It’s been a while since I have posted in “Photo of the Week”. I have been very busy with the camera but where my work is spread over a range of different genres it’s hard for me to pick favourites and I also think to choose a photo routinely based on a calendar is a bit false. However this photo of a Grey Heron did well for me in a recent club competition and I like it so much I think it deserves a place here. Having said that I also got some cracking photos of terns too.

When the weather is calm and you know there will be good light then Pennington Marshes is a great place to go this time of year. The terns are back and I love photographing them when they are fishing. Either as they dive or when they hover. This morning I was lucky enough to find a pair of Little Terns bonding through feeding. Very sweet.

3 days after her UKBFF South Coast Championship 3rd place and qualification for the National Championships Charlene Joy came to my studio for a shoot. A great chance to play with lighting and some great results.

The snow this time was better for photographs here in the New Forest because it was a bit warmer and it was sticking to the trees and plants so I ventured out early this morning to play with the camera. Found some Red Deer and a Roe Deer but couldn’t find the Fallow Bucks.

Hand a chance to photograph some Fallow Bucks in the New Forest national Park this week. One or two of them were starting to drop their antlers but most still had them. There were a couple of lovely White Bucks that were very obliging. I’ve picked these photos because I love the way their eyes are catching the afternoon light.
