Heron Landing

Heron Landing

It’s been a while since I have posted in “Photo of the Week”.  I have been very busy with the camera but where my work is spread over a range of different genres it’s hard for me to pick favourites and I also think to choose a photo routinely based on a calendar is a bit false.  However this photo of a Grey Heron did well for me in a recent club competition and I like it so much I think it deserves a place here.  Having said that I also got some cracking photos of terns too.

When the weather is calm and you know there will be good light then Pennington Marshes is a great place to go this time of year.  The terns are back and I love photographing them when they are fishing.  Either as they dive or when they hover.  This morning I was lucky enough to find a pair of Little Terns bonding through feeding.  Very sweet.

White Fallow Bucks in the New Forest

White Fallow Bucks in the New Forest

Hand a chance to photograph some Fallow Bucks in the New Forest national Park this week.  One or two of them were starting to drop their antlers but most still had them.  There were a couple of lovely White Bucks that were very obliging.  I’ve picked these photos because I love the way their eyes are catching the afternoon light.
